Harbourside Holiday Park enjoys a sheltered position just across the road from a sandy estuary beach. Hire a kayak from reception, and you can explore the estuary or have fun paddling upstream to the Whitianga Waterways with its various canals and some rather lovely homes. We have electric and mountain bikes for hire to explore the area.
We are an easy 450-metre stroll from the town centre. Take a walk to discover the boutiques and gift shops. Stop to enjoy a drink at one of the cafés or bars, and perhaps plan a meal at an award-winning restaurant.
A short walk from Whitianga township will take you to the "Lost Spring", which is one of New Zealands' top spa destinations with thermal pools, spa treatments and its own restaurant.
A small passenger ferry operates between the Whitianga wharf and Ferry Landing. You can catch the ferry to explore Front Beach, Lonely Bay, Flaxmill Bay and Cooks Beach. There are refreshment stops on the way.
The Information Centre is the central agency for booking your activities like glass-bottom boat trips, scenic boat trips, and fishing charters. The trained staff can also help you to get the most from your holiday by suggesting self-drive day trips on the peninsula and a variety of inexpensive and fun activities.
